Practice News

March 2011

Happy birthday to us

It has been just over a year since Crump Pearce started trading and Gary and I moved to Merstow Green. In that time thanks' in part to the fantastic referrals provided by our clients the practice has gone from strength to strength.

Most recently we have again strengthened our accounts team with the addition of Chris Perry. Chris who has recently qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians previously worked for a 2 partner firm of accountants based in Redditch and brings with him a wealth of experience particularly with Sage and other computerized accounts packages.

To further improve our client offering we are currently in the process of developing a link with a local firm of IFA’ s and hope that this link will be formulised by Easter.

Despite the growth our core aims remain the same. That is to

  1. Provide exceptional service to our clients in a relaxed and friendly way
  2. Tailor our service to our clients individual wants, needs and expectations
  3. Ensure that our clients don't pay a penny more in tax than they legally have to
  4. Charge fairly and be open and honest about our fees

In short we provide – Our service, Your way.

Continued growth

Following a continued period of growth we have appointed two new employees, Karen Dean and Karen Crump.

Karen Crump Joined the firm on a part time basis in May 2010 and provides support to Rachael with the firms Administration and Marketing.

Karen Dean is an experienced Accountant who joined the team in June 2010. She will work closely alongside the directors to ensure we continue to provide our clients (old and new) the service that they have come to expect from us.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients for the recommendations and referrals that they have provided to us over the last few months that have contributed to our growth and continued success.

New Tax Investigation service

We would like to introduce our new tax investigation service…..

Over recent months we have seen HMRC’s investigative and challenging powers increase significantly and last year alone HMRC collected £12 billion through tax investigations, an increase of 40% on the year before. These additional powers coupled with the current state of the economy indicate that HMRC enquiries will get more common and aggressive over the coming months and years as the government try to collect additional taxes to plug the growing budget deficit.

Because it is our belief that the number of tax enquiries will increase and to provide peace of mind to our clients we have developed a Tax Enquiry Service. The service which is backed by an insurance policy means we can claim the costs of defending our clients in tax enquiries from the insurance company. In essence the insurance company would pay our fees for dealing with an investigation and not you.

If you have any questions or are unsure about the correct amount to pay, please do not hesitate to contact either Gary or Tim.

More/detailed information on the service will be added to our website shortly
